Check out my guest post on the pros and cons of courtship today vs. courtship in Jane Austen's world. It's a question I pondered constantly while writing my latest novel, RUDE AWAKENINGS OF A JANE AUSTEN ADDICT.
The post is on Stephanie's Written Word as part of her Everything Austen Challenge.
Oh yeah, and there's a BIG giveaway: Dutton is providing three copies of RUDE AWAKENINGS OF A JANE AUSTEN ADDICT, and I'm providing three copies of CONFESSIONS OF A JANE AUSTEN ADDICT.

I read both of these books back-to-back and had such a great time with them, I was sorry to finish. (My mom saw me reading them and asked if she could borrow them, so she is up next!)

To be honest, when I heard about the plot of these books, I thought it was a pretty gutsy thing to do--and wow did you pull it off! As a writer, I admire you very much for that.

Hi Laurie,
I just wanted to write and let you know how much I enjoyed both Confessions and Rude Awakenings. I read both of these books back-to-back and had such a great time with them, I was sorry to finish. (My mom saw me reading them and asked if she could borrow them, so she is up next!)
I loved the juxtaposition of Courtney's LA voice in Regency England (and vice versa with Jane). To be honest, when I heard about the plot of these books, I thought it was a pretty gutsy thing to do--and wow did you pull it off! As a writer, I admire you very much for that.
Thank you for this fabulous giveaway, and for your support of Stephanie's Everything Austen Challenge. It was through this challenge that I discovered your books, and I'm glad I did.
And now, I will put away my slobbering fan-girl hat and go back to being something resembling a working professional...
Best,
Nicole
